  • Functional Testing (FCT) : <\/strong>Functional testing is performed in the last phase of the production process to serve as the final quality control procedure. It ensures that the unit under test (UUT) operates as intended. Because of the flexibility of this type of test, it can be employed as a substitute for more costly testing methods. Complete functional testing is increasingly being used with low to moderate batch manufacturing to guarantee every board coming off the production line is operational. We can assist you with the design an manufacturing of the functional test fixture which is specific to your PCBA.<\/li>\n
  • In-circuit Testing (ICT): <\/strong>In-circuit testing is more common for large PCBA batches and the most robust. The typical fault coverage is upwards of 92%. During ICT, a custom designed fixture consists of electrical probes on a bed of nails format sends currents through specific locations on the board at designated test points. These tests can check for open circuits and shorts, missing components, solder defects and functionality of the components. We have several in-circuit test machines available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Flying Probe Testing (FPT) : <\/strong>Flying probe testing is a form of in-circuit testing that does not require the design of a custom bed of nail fixture as ICT requires. Any changes to the design will only require a program update. A flying probe machine can access vias or specific points of a component to be used as test points. It can be programmed to check the value of passive components, the orientation of diodes\/transistors and perform voltage measurements. The FPT option is used for small to medium batch manufacturing and provides excellent test coverage.<\/li>\n
    • Burn-in Testing : <\/strong>The burn-in testing is very effective in allowing you to check the performance of components and find hidden defects before the assemblies are installed in the field. During the burn-in testing, boards are subjected to conditions that meet or exceed the rated operating conditions to detect any premature failures and test load capacity. Unlike many inspection methods, that only check for indicators for potential failures, burn-in testing simulates extreme operating conditions to trigger failures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
